Indrayani Waghmare, PhD (Principal Investigator)
I was born in India where I completed my bachelor’s degree in science at Hislop College, Maharashtra (2006-2009). I then moved to Sweden to pursue a master’s degree in molecular biology at Umea University (2009-2011) before eventually moving to the United Stated to earn a PhD at the University of Dayton, Ohio (2011-2016) under the mentorship of Madhuri Kango-Singh. I did my postdoctoral training (2016-2023) in the lab of Andrea Page-McCaw at Vanderbilt University where I investigated glypican-based mechanism of extracellular Wnt distribution, an area of research I will continue to investigate in my lab. Outside the lab, I enjoy art, cooking, reading, classical music, snow, and spending time with my daughter, Lily, and my husband, William. |
